3 Reasons to upgrade to Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 1912 LTSR

Citrix today released the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 7 1912 Long-Term Service Release (LTSR). An LTSR release comes along once every few years and is targeted at customers with production environments who prefer to stay on the same version of the product for an extended period of time. The LTSR program offers up to 10 years of support, so administrators have plenty of time to plan, test, and deploy their environments.

1912 is the natural successor to Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops 1909, and brings two years’ worth of new functionality and feature enhancements to customers currently running 7.15 LTSR and gives Current Release (CR) customers a chance to take advantage of all the latest updates too.

Here’s just three compelling reasons to upgrade:

1. Catch up on 2 years’ worth of enhancements; when you run a LTSR you get updates which provide bug fixes but you don’t get any new features and Citrix have added a huge amount of new features and improvements in the last 2 years – moving to 1912 will bring you up to date.
